PRODUCT OVERVIEW
MAX-ALLOY® LINK CHAIN
The complete range of Max Alloy® chain, including sizes 7mm - 32mm diameters is manufactured in South Africa in both grade 800 and grade 1000. The steel is supplied by a local steel manufacturer in accordance with National and International standards specified for short link lifting chain. Max- Alloy® is heat-treated, fine grain steel developed for use in chain slings for lifting applications.
It is recommended that the chain is purchased per 208 liter/ 55 gallon drum. The meters per drum depend on the chain diameter. 7mm chain is 500 meters/drum and 32mm chain is 30 meters p/drum.
MASTER LINKS & SUB-ASSEMBLIES
The Mckinnon Chain lifting system is tough, durable, and backed by professional technical support, meeting the most stringent quality control standards. Master Links and Sub-Assemblies are used to construct steel wire, rope, and chain sling assemblies for the off-shore market.
LOAD CHAIN
Load chain is manufactured from alloy steel to meet grade 8 properties. The chain is calibrated to a fine tolerance and is used on manual chain hoists. To ensure safety during lifting and operating of a chain block, the chain is proof tested to 2.5 times its working load limit.
Most Load chain commodities are manufactured every 2-3 months and kept in stock.
HAND CHAIN
This chain is calibrated to a fine tolerance to run over sprockets and hoists and is used in conjunction with the load chain. It is manufactured from grade 3 material and offers a wide range of different chain configurations. It is typically used in roller doors and manually operated chain blocks.
AGRICULTURAL CHAIN
Super X Short Link Chain is a special steel chain developed to withstand the arduous and extreme conditions encountered in the sugar and forestry industries. Its unique properties make it ideal for applications such as bundling chain, spiller trailer chain, or log skidding and timber bundling.
The most common type is CG6112 11.2 mm Super X Short link chain, sold in 179.21 meters/drum.
CTC® CHAIN
Cargo Lashing Chain is available in two sizes, 10mm & 13mm in diameter. The chains are manufactured from quality steel making them suitable for simple and complex assemblies. Lashing Chains and components are combined to make secure assemblies typically used to tie down loads transported from one destination to the next.
The most common type is CTC100 10mm transport chain, sold in 254.55 meters/drum.
MAX-LINK CHAIN / MINING CHAIN
Max-Link refers to Grade 3 and Grade 5 Long Link and Extra Long Link chain that is primarily developed for use in underground mining. The chain is well suited for underground pipe and equipment suspension application and as blasting curtains in the shaft mining industry.
MARINE CHAIN
McKinnon offers a wide variety of chain suitable marine and mooring applications.
Chains are manufactured to international standards, with product integrity fit to withstand the harsh coastal environment, and have a painted, galvanised or a zinc thermal diffused finish.
Commonly available in Grade 80+ short, mid or special long link chain. Grade 5 Long link Floating Aid chain, also referred to as Grade 5 Portnet chain, is only manufactured to order and not readily available in stock.
OVERHEAD CONVEYER CHAIN
McKinnon Overhead Conveyor Chain for the food and poultry industry is manufactured in-house to the highest quality. It is super calibrated, long-lasting and suitable for every production environment in these industries.
The most common type is CCCH080C2 8mm Grade 10 chicken conveyor chain.
